Privacy Policy
This page is a good-faith draft describing what this site actually collects, written to be accurate rather than boilerplate. It has not been reviewed by an attorney and should not be treated as final legal language.
The short version
Analog Ledger is operated by The Valor Fund Inc. Analog Ledger does not run its own database of customer information. Payment and billing details are collected and held entirely by Stripe, our payment processor — never by us. The only thing our own servers store about a visitor is a single browser cookie, and it doesn't contain any personal information itself.
What we collect
Free visitors: nothing. Every page reads from a public, unauthenticated data source, and no cookie is set.
Subscribers: after checkout, we set one httpOnly cookie containing a cryptographically signed reference to your Stripe customer ID — not your email, name, or any billing detail. It can't be read or modified by client-side scripts, and it exists only to let the site ask Stripe, on each visit, whether that customer ID currently has an active subscription.
What Stripe collects
When you subscribe, you're taken to a payment page hosted entirely on Stripe's own domain. Your card details, billing address, name, and email are entered there and transmitted directly to Stripe — they never pass through or touch our servers. Stripe's handling of that information is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy. You can manage or delete your payment information at any time through the billing portal linked from your Account page, which is also hosted by Stripe.
Restoring access on a new device
If you lose your session cookie (a new device, or clearing cookies), you can enter your email on the Account page to get signed back in. That email is used only to look up your subscription with Stripe and send you a one-time restore link through our email provider, Resend — it isn't stored in a database of ours, since we don't operate one.
Cookies
This site sets no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies of any kind. The only cookie in use is the strictly-necessary session cookie described above, set solely so subscribers stay signed in between visits.
Data we publish
Analog Ledger's research archive is published to public GitHub repositories as part of how the site demonstrates its own integrity (see the Transparency page). That data is about market activity, not about visitors or subscribers — no personal information is ever included in it.
